The perfect location for Portland holidays

Just two kilometres from Portland Bill and five kilometres from Portland Harbour, the site for the 2012 London Olympics sailing and windsurfing events, Portland Retreat is in a quiet residential area with generous off-street parking and excellent public transport.

Portland Retreat is ideally located for Portland and nearby Weymouth as well as ideal bases for exploring the Jurassic Coast, Devon and Cornwall, where you’ll find every form of water sport known to man on the Portland Hideaway’s doorstep: swimming, surfing, paragliding, waterskiing, windsurfing, diving, fishing, kayaking, as well as kiting, and hang gliding for the truly adventurous.

Portland is a walker’s paradise, with coastal routes over every part of it and access to the coastal paths just 100 metres from the Portland Hideaway and Portland Retreat. There’s tons of history as well as secluded little coves like Church Ope, with its ruined 14th Century Rufus Castle, along with the 13th Century St Andrew’s Church and graveyard. Portland Bill and its lighthouses are within easy walking distance and some of the most spectacular views of the Jurassic Coast, England’s first natural World Heritage Site, are only minutes away from the Portland Hideaway.
